Ellen C. Hampton, of Southfield, volunteers in an after-school program at Greater Bible Chapel Church in Detroit. She had both a minimally invasive knee replacement and a minimally invasive hip replacement by Robert Ference, M.D.
Now, Hampton is full of energy and continues her busy life.
The pain from surgery was so minimal she took no prescription pain pills. She is also happy her scar is small. “I was worried about scarring because I had seen other people with long scars up their knee,” she says. Hampton, 66, worked at Sinai-Grace for 38 years before retiring in 2007.
