Member of the orthopedic department have developed numerous surgical innovations, especially in minimally invasive total knee replacement. “After completing approximately 2,000 of these knee replacement procedures, I have found that 96 percent of my patients have full movement in their leg and are walking within six weeks,” Robert Ference, MD and orthopaedic surgeon, says.
Dr. Ference has helped create instrumentation for many of the medical device manufacturers. In addition, Dr. Ference is pioneering the use of a computer navigation system on difficult joint reconstruction and revision cases.
