LittleAngel Patton, of Romulus, will never forget her first heart attack. It was her 50th birthday, and she was busy preparing vegetables for a big Thanksgiving Day dinner. Now 53, she has taken steps to change her lifestyle.
“I used to be addicted to caffeine. I was always drinking coffee or Coke. And I had to have my chocolate,” she recalls. “Thanks to the Sinai-Grace Healthy Heart support group, I’ve made a lot of changes.”
Patton says the support group has helped teach her about medications, how to avoid salt and fatty food, and how to manage stress.
“Now I know what’s really going on with my health – and I feel so much better.”
