Sinai-Grace offers a range of support services for cancer patients and their families.
Cancer Support Group
The Sinai-Grace Cancer Center offers a monthly cancer support group. The group supports people dealing with all types of cancer, their friends and/or family. Come share your feelings with someone who may be experiencing similar feelings as you or a loved one. This group allows you to encourage others and have your spirits lifted.
This support group meets the third Thursday of every month at 5 p.m. in the lobby of the Sinai-Grace Cancer Center. Space is limited. You can reserve a spot by calling 313-966-3116 or 313-966-4325.
Look Good, Feel Better
This program provides information and cosmetic advice to women battling cancer. This training includes hands-on instruction on makeup, skin care and suggestions for using wigs, turbans and scarves. It also includes tips on nail care while undergoing treatment.
Cosmetics are provided for your personal make over. This program is free and facilitated by trained, licensed cosmetologists. Receive a free makeup kit valued at more than $300.
All classes meet on Mondays from 2 – 4 p.m. Classes are held in the Doctor’s Inn located on the first floor of the hospital. Call 1-800-227-2345 to register.
People’s Medical College
You're invited to attend free health education programs offered through DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital's People's Medical College. This educational series explores the science behind today's medical advances and present information to help you live a healthier life. DMC Sinai-Grace physicians will talk about the latest surgical advancements and treatments offered today. Questions and answer session follows lecture.
