With 12 fully equipped operating rooms, DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital easily handles a wide range of patients from complex trauma cases that arrive in our Level II Emergency Department to elective joint surgery. Surgical case volumes have increased significantly in recent years, especially elective orthopedic cases. Since our medical staff is comprised of 70 percent private practice physicians, this is a sign that surgeons and patients are choosing to have their procedure at DMC Sinai-Grace over other hospitals.
Because of the large number of physicians on staff, DMC Sinai-Grace offers comprehensive surgical capabilities, handling a full range of medical procedures, except severe burns and organ transplants. Our specialties include:
As southeast Michigan’s largest kidney dialysis facility, DMC Sinai-Grace handles nephrology cases and does the largest number of peripheral vascular procedures of any hospital in the area.
In addition, three procedure suites are used for cystoscopies and urodynamics for bladder and other urinary tract tests.
DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital's emergency facility is a certified Level II trauma center, meaning the operating suites are staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Nationally mandated patient safety and quality control measures are carefully followed helping to ensure that infection rates are below industry standards.
Postsurgical Care
The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), located next to the operating rooms, is staffed by physicians who have completed critical care fellowships, providing an extra level of expertise for patients recovering from surgery.
