The DMC Sinai-Grace School of Radiologic Technology is committed to the education and development of radiology students in order that they may fully participate in the highest-quality healthcare services in a caring and efficient manner.
The education provided prepares the student to enter the job market in diagnostic imaging. The education will also instill lifelong learning values and assist them in achieving their personal, as well as their professional goals.
Our Goals
DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital School of Radiologic Technology serves the radiographic community and its students by reaching and maintaining the following goals:
- Provides an education that promotes effective communication and critical thinking skill while promoting ethics and professionalism.
- Graduates competent, knowledgable and proficient radiographers.
- Provides the medical community with qualified graduates to fill entry-level Radiographer positions.

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is a 400-bed teaching hospital and offers a complete range of medical, surgical, maternity and emergency services. Services are provided to all patients regardless of religion, race, gender, ethnic identification or economic status. DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is specially equipped to be accessible to the handicapped.
The Department of Radiology occupies a large part of the sixth floor and includes general radiography, fluoroscopy, CT, special procedures and nuclear medicine. The Emergency Department is located on the ground floor and contains general radiography and two CT scanners. Ultrasound services are located on the third floor. Mammography services are located in the Professional Office Building. Additional radiographic equipment is utilized in the surgical suite, endoscopy, ED Trauma and at the patient's bedside. The Department of Radiology performs more than 140,000 examinations each year in a variety of procedure areas. More than 75,000 procedures are performed for the Emergency Department yearly. DMC Sinai-Grace is the primary trauma center for northwest Detroit, handling over 80,000 visits per year. The nature and frequency of examinations performed in the hospital provide radiography students with excellent educational experience.
The DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital School of Radiologic Technology is a two-year, self-contained program, including both didactic and clinical education. The goal of the curriculum is to provide a unified, correlated sequence of instruction and experience to prepare the student to meet the objectives and become a caring, efficient and capable Radiologic Technologist.
The school also provides additional clinical sites at DMC Harper University Hospital, DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital, DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan.
The combined departments of Radiology perform approximately 450,000 examinations each year in a variety of procedure areas. More than 100,000 procedures are performed for the Emergency Departments yearly. DMC Sinai Grace and DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital are the primary trauma centers for metropolitan Detroit, handling over 200,000 visits per year.
